Meet Teens for Tomorrow (TFT)
Our members are diverse and come from many different backgrounds. We all joined TFT for different reasons: some of us have had family members with substance use, some of us struggled ourselves with substance use and don't want our peers to have to learn the hard way, some of us have seen the issue of substance use in our communities' youth, some of us are worried about what we are seeing with vaping trends, some of us are worried about what we see on social media and are passionate about working towards prevention.
We work together to discuss and create projects that seek to reduce substance use in Clark County. We have TFT Peer Educators from every school district in Clark County. If you would like to find out who serves on TFT in your school district, you can reach out to our coordinator Alaina Green at [email protected]

Aanya Hi! My name is Aanya and I’m a Teens for Tomorrow peer educator. In my free time, I like to dance, listen to music, hang out with my friends and play my viola. I joined TFT to learn more about substance use and prevention. Since I’ve joined, I’ve learned healthy ways to deal with stress and cope with grief. My favorite thing about TFT is the people and the safe space it provides. I love being a part of this youth group and I will stay in it as long as I can. |

I love going to church, play the violin, and play volleyball. I got into TFT because my older sister was doing it and I found it interesting. What I’ve learned from being in TFT is the reality of how many teenagers struggle with substance use. My favorite thing about TFT is how we’re like a community together advocating. Sometimes things can be stressful, a healthy coping skill I use is to breathe in and getting all of my stress out. Sam I’m Sam! I’ve been involved with TFT for 3 years now. I personally joined because of my experience with the effects of substance use, with friends and family of mine in recovery. I learned advocacy and education skills through my time here, developing my passion for community involvement and public health/research. I’ve been playing a lot of games, recently. (It’s a healthy coping skill.) Linnea Program Assistant - My name is Linnea, and my role is to help Teens for Tomorrow with anything they need in their work to help the community. TFT members do some awesome stuff, so I feel lucky to have a front row seat! When I'm not helping out here, I like to spend time outside gardening, hiking, and hanging out with my dog and my ducks. |
Bridget Hi! My name’s Bridget. I hope to someday attend the U.S. Naval Academy & maybe even play soccer there. Soccer is one of my biggest passions especially because it helps me feel connected to my brother overseas & also cope with stress. Family is my main priority, they always come first. I also love being with my friends. Whenever I am stressed I: eat, listen to music, run, play soccer, take a deep breath or reconnect w/ nature. I recently joined TFT & it has taught me I am not alone. I strive to be a light to the other people around me & always provide support. (1 Thessalonians 5:11) - Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. Emily Hi my name is Emily and I’m very excited to be a member of TFT. TFT is important to me because I want to learn about substance use, and educate other people with the information I learn. Being a member of TFT has shown me that there is a lot of support in the world for everyone. It has been very fun meeting new people and learning new things. With my role in TFT it is my goal to support others and encourage them to make healthy decisions. Joehl Hi my name is Joehl. My favorite hobbies are playing soccer and basketball, other hobbies are listening to music. The reason why I joined TFT is because my mom suggested it, but I am really liking it and looking forward to every meeting. A thing that I learned about while being in TFT is how to speak publicly. My favorite part about TFT are the snacks and the experiences, but also learning about substance use and how it affects you. It’s important to me because I have personally seen how substances can impact a person and want people to know how bad it is for your body to use it. |
